About The Position


Chain Reaction, an innovative semiconductor startup, is seeking a talented Board Design Engineer to collaborate closely with our ASIC design team in developing cutting-edge hardware solutions. As a key member of the team, you will take full ownership of the board design process, from concept to production, with a focus on hands-on development in the lab, including bring-up, debugging, and validation. The role offers an opportunity to leverage your expertise in complex Power Delivery Network (PDN) design while addressing thermal challenges and design constraints to ensure seamless ASIC integration. As the company grows, you will have the chance to take on increasing responsibilities in the hardware domain and contribute to impactful, real-world innovations.


Key Responsibilities



  • Design, develop, and produce reference designs, internal prototyping boards, and evaluation hardware tailored to Chain Reaction’s ASIC solutions.
  • Design and develop high-performance Bitcoin mining systems optimized for mass production.
  • Translate product requirements into detailed board-level specifications.
  • Develop electrical schematics and lead component selection to meet performance, cost, and thermal constraints.
  • Provide layout guidance to ensure optimal signal integrity, power integrity, and manufacturability.
  • Lead hands-on development, testing, bring-up, and debugging in the lab to ensure successful product realization.
  • Support and oversee the production and qualification processes, ensuring reliable, scalable designs.

 

 

Requirements


  • B.Sc/M.Sc in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in board design.
  • Proven expertise in layout design, bring-up, and verification.
  • Expertise in Power Delivery Network (PDN) design with proven experience in various DC-DC solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with various control interfaces (e.g., PCIe, parallel, and serial I/Fs).
  • Proven experience in memory device designs (e.g., DRAM technologies such as DDR3/4).
  • Hands-on experience with the production of boards/systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently learn, investigate, and implement new technologies.
